Save Money, Help Prevent Rodents, Make Owing Backyard Chickens Easy and Fun.

Save Money by Stopping Wasted Feed:

The Dine A Chook Poultry Feeder has years of research and development behind it.

One of the unique features is the Horizontal and Vertical Paddles inside the feed bay. The latest Dine a Chook Feeders use this tested technology to force the Chicken to eat inside the Feeder rather than raking it out. Less feed on the ground instantly saves you time and money. It's smart, innovative additions like this that set Dine A Chook apart from Cheaper Feeders on the market.

Do your Chickens eat only what they like from your Feed Mix and leave the rest untouched? This is known as selective feeding and is caused by using a Scratch Mix. Scratch Feed is the nice looking feed with colourful bits of grains, corn etc. Using a Scratch feed means that you end up with more wasted feed. It also means your Hens are missing out on the essential nutrients they need for healthy Egg Production. If this is a problem for you we recommend using a Pellet Mix. Pellet Feed is made with a balance of nutrients that your laying hens and poultry need.

Save Money by Stopping Chicken feed getting Wet:

The Dine A Chook Patented Rain and Gutter System keeps Feed Dry. Straight away you save money by not having to replace wet feed. And let's face it, there's plenty of rain in the UK and Ireland to deal with.
Our Unique Rain hood and Gutter System was developed for Farmers in Far North Queensland Australia. It was made to cope with Tropical Downpours. And it works. It is one of the World's Best Engineered Chicken Feeder with Rain Cover. Stop food spoiling and keep it dry.

Help make your Coop Rodent and Wildlife Resistant:

The Dine A Chook Automatic Chicken Feeder together with a Good Coop Management Plan ensures your Coop will be about as Rodent Proof as you can get. The Waste reducing design means virtually no feed will be on the ground. Less feed on the ground means less attraction for Rodents. The Rain Hood helps prevent rodents from getting to the feed while the Height from the Ground helps prevent them coming up from the Ground. It also helps stop pest birds and Wildlife. Save your money by only feeding your Chickens and Poultry.

Compare Dine A Chook Feeder over a Hanging Feeder or Treadle Feeder.

Hanging Feeders: Don't underestimate Rats and Vermin. While hanging feeder units seem to have an advantage, they are not entirely Rat proof. It doesn't take Rats long to realise they can climb down the chain to get to the Feed. Also, many Hanging Feed Units fail to address the Rain meaning feed can be open to getting wet.

Treadle Feeders: Although we feel they are better than a Hanging Feeder, they still are not Rat Proof. Working as a team, Rats learn to stand on the step to open the Feeder and access the Feed. Treadle Feeding Units are also not ideal for poor weather when a Chicken opens the lid; rain gets in wetting the feed.

The reality, regardless of advertising or marketing claims, there just is no 100% Rat Proof Feeder. What we can tell you based on customer feedback, the combination of a Dine A Chook Feeder as well as a Good Coop Management plan is a highly successful way of preventing Rat Infestations. Our waste reducing Feeder keeps food off the floor. If you maintain the Coop in a clean, tidy condition, you shall all but eliminate Rats.

Super Quick, Easy, No Fuss Installation:

Dine A Chook feeders can be installed in minutes. Use the Moulded Hooks to fit onto Wire Mesh. Alternatively, purchase our Mounting Kit which allows you to mount your Feeder to Timber or Metal.

  1. Excellent feeders

So much better than the old ones I had and the chickens took to them straight away

  2. unbelievable results

Hi there,I purchased 2 feeders in January just to give it a try.I got my money back already with no mess, not a rat in sight!! I got more hens so I bought 2 more feeders, best decision I ever made.I don't have to buy so much feed anymore ,not even the birds can feed from them ,Great!!

  3. What a difference!

I wish I'd had these feeders when I started keeping hens about 30 years ago. There really is no waste and the hens took to them straight away. The plastic is sturdy and the container very much easy to fill.

I did remove the base to see how easy it would be for cleaning and found it a bit fiddly to fit back in, but after a few tries the base suddenly just slotted back ready for screwing back into place (no, no screws, just the action of the base), so I expect there is a knack to it.

We haven't had any really driving rain since I bought the feeders but I'm optimistic that this won't be a problem. As there is absolutely no waste and the hens just eat up, it means that food doesn't get left over and get damp and potientially grungy. I know there must be rats round and about but so far, in the weeks I've had these feeders, I've not seen any evidence (which I would have done with my old feeders).

I also bought one Dine-a-Chook drinker with two water cups and this is equally brilliant, keeping much cleaner than the old-fashioned plastic or aluminium drinkers. I already had a nipple drinker (not Dine-a-Chook) which the hens like, but not as much as the Dine-a-Chook one which is excellent - easy to fill and easy to keep the little drinking cups clean. Because it is made of a more robust and thicker plastic than the nipple drinker it doesn't let in the light and therefore doesn't go green.

I must review my finances and see if I can stretch to a second drinker. Well done and thank you Dine-a-Chook!

  4. No Waste

Excellent product. Foiled the moorhens - they can't pinch the food out of these containers. Took advice of a previous review and put in mealworms and sunflower seeds to start hens eating from them. No problem whatsoever.

  5. Feeder

Very well designed. Chickens took to it straight away and there's no spillage now.
