Save Money, Help Prevent Rodents, Make Owing Backyard Chickens Easy and Fun.

Stop Wasting Feed and Start Saving Money today:

With years of Research and Development behind it, Dine A Chook is trusted around the world by Backyard Chicken Keepers. Having sold over 50,000 Feeders and Drinkers Worldwide is a testament to the Quality and Reliability of the Dine A Chok Brand name. Put simply if it's Dine A Chook, it works.

The biggest challenge in claiming a Waste Reducing Feeder is designing one which inhibits natural Chicken Feeding behaviour. Chickens love to thrash and rake their food. So to combat this, we created a feeder where the Hen has to place their head inside the unit. Even still the Hens try to rake the feed. So we mastered Waste Reduction by implementing our Unique Horizontal and Vertical Paddles capture system. So even if the Chicken flicks the food, the Paddles are designed to keep it in the feeding bay. Ultimately less feed on the ground is more money in your pocket. If you have a large flock that can save you big money very quickly. It's smart, innovative features like this that set Dine A Chook apart from Cheaper PVC Feeders on the market.

Also, you may not think about it, but the feed you are giving to your flock may even be wasting your money. Do your Chickens eat only what they like from your Feed Mix and leave the rest untouched? This is known as selective feeding and is caused by using a Scratch Mix. Scratch Feed is generally the cheaper, nice looking feed with colourful bits of grains, corn etc. Using a Scratch feed means that you end up with more wasted feed. Also, your Hens are missing out on the essential nutrients they need for healthy Egg Production. If this is a problem for you we recommend using a Pellet Mix. Pellet Feed is made with a balance of nutrients that your laying hens and poultry need.

Stop Feed Getting Wet and Save Money:

Do you waste money on throwing out wet feed?

The Dine A Chook Patented Rain and Gutter System keeps Feed Dry. Straight away you save money by not having to replace wet feed. And let's face it, there's plenty of rain in the UK and Ireland. Our Patented Rain hood and Gutter System was developed for Farmers in Far North Queensland Australia. It was engineered to cope with Tropical Downpours. And it works. It is one of the World's Best Engineered Chicken Feeder with Rain Cover. Stop food spoiling and keep it dry.

Helps deter Rodents, Pest Birds and Wildlife:

The Dine A Chook Automatic Chicken Feeder together with a Good Coop Management Plan ensures your Coop will be about as Rodent Proof as you can get. The Waste reducing design means virtually no feed will be on the ground. Less feed on the ground means less attraction for Rodents. The Rain Hood helps prevent rodents from getting to the feed while the Height from the Ground helps prevent them coming up from the Ground. It also helps stop pest birds and Wildlife. Save your money by only feeding your Chickens and Poultry. We have written some extremely helpful articles on our Blog for you to read. Dine A Chook Feeder vs. Hanging Feeder or Treadle Feeder.

Hanging Feeders: Rats and Vermin are incredibly versatile, resilient and intelligent. Hanging feeder units seem to have an advantage but they are not entirely Rat proof. Rats work out pretty quickly they can climb down the chain to get to the Feed. Also, many Hanging Feed Units fail to address the Rain meaning feed can be open to getting wet.

Treadle Feeders: Although we feel they are better than a Hanging Feeder, they still are not Rat Proof. Working as a team, Rats learn to stand on the step to open the Feeder and access the Feed. Treadle Feeding Units are also not ideal for poor weather when a Chicken opens the lid; rain gets in wetting the feed.

The reality, regardless of advertising or marketing claims, there just is no 100% Rat Proof Feeder. What we can tell you based on customer feedback, the combination of a Dine A Chook Feeder as well as a Good Coop Management plan is a highly successful way of preventing Rat Infestations. Our waste reducing Feeder keeps food off the floor. If you maintain the Coop in a clean, tidy condition, you shall all but eliminate Rats.
